2025 Street Lighting Project

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) and Village of Greendale are planning to replace aged Street Lighting units with new LED energy efficient Street Lighting Units. We have contracted with raSmith, a consulting engineering firm, to complete the street lighting design and
environmental documentation activities. The proposed improvements would be funded under the federal Carbon Reduction Program established as part of the 2021 Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (Project ID 2565-02-02). This program provides funding for projects that reduce emissions and requires states to develop comprehensive carbon reduction
strategies.

No roadway improvement work, real estate acquisition, or significant grading/ground disturbance activities are included in the proposed improvements. See the Project Overview Map below for approximate locations of the Street Lighting work.

Agency coordination and environmental documentation are expected to be complete in summer 2024. A Contractor working for the Village of Greendale would perform the Street Lighting project work in summer of 2025. Village Streets would remain open to traffic while the Street Lighting units are installed.
