Drug Dropbox

Expired and unwanted medications can be turned into the Greendale Police Department anonymously by Village of Greendale residents.

Our prescription drop-off box is located in the Police Department lobby (5911 W. Grange Ave.) which is open to the public 24/7/365.

BRING:  Prescription (controlled and non-controlled) and over-the-counter medications, ointments, inhalers, patches, non-aerosol sprays, creams, vape cartridges and devices (with batteries removed), vials and pet medications.

Residents may dispose of solid (non-liquid) medications by removing the medication from its container and placing it into a clear sealable plastic baggie (available at the PD by the drop-off box).

Liquid medications, creams and sprays MUST BE in their original packaging.

DO NOT BRING:  Illegal drugs, needles/sharps (see below), mercury thermometers, aerosol cans, bio-hazardous material (anything containing a bodily fluid or blood), flares, personal care products (shampoo, soaps, lotions, sunscreens, etc.), household hazardous waste (paint, pesticides, chemicals, oil, or gas), acids or any vape devices containing batteries of any kind.

SHARPS are NOT accepted at this drop-off box. The Greendale Health Department  has information on where/how to properly dispose of sharps here.
